Youth Worker - Gorton - M18

Our partner school have stressed the urgency for full time Youth Workers who are Team - Teach trained to start after October Half Term. This school is based in Gorton, Manchester and are requiring staff 8.30 - 4pm Monday - Friday. The school cater for young people aged 7 - 11 with social, emotional and mental health needs who display quite extreme challenging behaviour. Some young people may express their frustration through physical outbursts and therefore a Team - Teach qualification is desirable. Teaching Personnel deliver accredited 12 hour Team - Teach courses regularly so Teaching Assistants who are willing to undergo training are encouraged to apply. The school are looking to appoint Youth Workers due to the nature of the pupils and the challenges within the role.

The School works across three sites in Manchester and cater for pupils in KS1 and KS2 who have been excluded from their mainstream school. The school offer a supportive team and professional development courses to enhance your experience.

The ideal Teaching Assistants will;

  • Have a passion for developing the social and emotional development of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.
  • Have previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
  • Have previous experience working with individuals with challenging behaviour
  • Have a resilient character
  • Be available 5 days a week and able to start immediately
  • Have a DBS on the update service
