SEN Teaching assistant - Based in Acton/full time/immediate start.
The role?
In this position you will be working one to one with a student with autism and associated challenging behaviour. Focusing their attention within the classroom is one of the roles that you will be undertaking, ensuring that he is engaging with the class and teacher. Whilst supporting this student closely you require to provide suitable feedback to both members of staff and parents/carers, especially in relation to their educational health care plan.
The school?
This role is a full time position based in Acton. The academy is based a short distance from local underground stations, connected by numerous bus services. It is a fairly new school, developed with a new building and structure of staff and students. The two form entry school has an ethos surrounding equality and community, emphasising the importance of inclusion within the local communities, home life and school life.
Ideal candidate?
- Experienced working with students with special educational needs
- KS2 experience
- additional courses such as team teach, safeguarding or makaton - not essential
- A valid DBS
