The Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the challenges of Upper Key Stage 2 and their transition into Year 6.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
  • Creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and achievement
  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress to ensure strong educational outcomes
  • Adapting teaching strategies to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Establishing high expectations for behaviour, effort, and attainment
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Working collaboratively with year group teams and support staff to enhance pupil achievement
  • Contributing to wider school life and participating in ongoing professional development opportunities

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with Year 5 experience desirable
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Have a secure understanding of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Be confident differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Be committed to raising standards and supporting children to achieve their full potential
  • Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a positive attitude to the classroom
