Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working alongside a friendly and inclusive primary school in Gorton in search of a dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, offering the opportunity to teach a vibrant Year 5 class within a supportive school community that places children, learning, and staff wellbeing at the heart of everything it does.

The Role

As the Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that encourage curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. You will create a positive classroom environment where pupils feel supported to take risks, overcome challenges, and succeed academically and personally.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Assess, monitor, and track attainment, identifying opportunities to accelerate progress
  • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture with high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and collaborate with staff to share best practice
  • Participate in CPD and professional development opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
  • Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Has a secure understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Can adapt teaching strategies to support a wide range of learning needs
  • Possesses excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
  • Is confident using technology to enhance learning and engagement
  • Is passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
