Year 5 - Classroom Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for a classroom support assistant to work in one of our specialist Special Educational Needs School in the Year 5 Class. You'll be working on a one to one basis with a young pupil who has social emotional mental health difficulties. The pupil has particularly challenging behaviour and therefore needs one to one support.
The students in this school tend to have one to one, two to one or even sometimes three to one support. All of the students at this school are on the autism spectrum. You will be asked to support the teacher in ensuring a peaceful and calm atmosphere in the classroom.

Many of the pupils have difficulties in understanding what is happening around them, as well as communicating their needs and wishes. You must work with the Speech and Language Therapist and the Therapy assistant to ensure each pupil has an individualised learning plan and learning strategies that allows them to get the most of their education.

The role:

  • 30 to 3.30 hours
  • £60 - £70 per day!
  • A full time role!
  • To start as soon as possible
  • Role based in Thornbury
  • You'll also need a Child workforce DBS on the update service, if you don't have one of these we can helkp you through the proccess of getting one
