Year 2 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Location: Salford
Start Date: November 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a large, welcoming, and inclusive primary school in Salford to recruit a dedicated Year 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in November 2026.

About the Role

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the classroom. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help pupils build confidence, develop key skills, and make strong progress during this important stage of their education.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom.
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Delivering literacy, numeracy, and targeted intervention activities.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
  • Assisting in creating a safe, organised, and engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Helping to prepare classroom resources and support daily classroom routines.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, and caring individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a patient, proactive, and supportive approach.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be passionate about working with primary-aged children.
  • Be able to adapt support to meet a range of learning needs.
  • Have previous experience within a school or educational setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Be confident supporting pupils within Key Stage 1.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Show a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential.
