Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rusholme to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from October 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HLTA to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and school leaders, delivering targeted interventions, leading lessons when required, and helping pupils achieve their full potential in a positive and nurturing environment.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting learning across a range of year groups and abilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Leading whole-class learning during teacher absence or release time
  • Delivering targeted interventions for individual pupils and small groups
  • Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement
  • Monitoring, recording, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

We are looking for a passionate and proactive HLTA who is committed to helping children thrive.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold HLTA status or possess relevant higher-level teaching assistant experience
  • Have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Be confident leading whole-class learning and delivering interventions
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
  • Be adaptable, reliable, and able to use their initiative
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children's educational development
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all pupils can succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
