Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant or qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for your next opportunity this October?

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Prestwich to recruit a dedicated HLTA for a full-time position starting in October 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school environment where staff are valued, pupils are encouraged to thrive, and professional development is actively promoted.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, delivering targeted interventions, and leading lessons when required to help maximise pupil progress and achievement.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group support sessions to raise attainment
  • Lead planned learning activities and whole-class lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Support pupils across the curriculum, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource creation
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to support pupil success

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

✅ Holds a HLTA qualification or has substantial classroom experience

✅ Has experience supporting learning within a primary school setting

✅ Is confident delivering lessons and interventions across different year groups

✅ Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills

✅ Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion

✅ Is proactive, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children's development

✅ Can work effectively as part of a wider school team
