The Role

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Burnage
Start Date: September

As a valued member of the school team, you will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, support pupil progress, and help create a positive and engaging environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

As an HLTA, you will:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging and effective lessons
  • Lead small-group and 1:1 intervention sessions to accelerate pupil progress
  • Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
  • Promote pupils' confidence, wellbeing, and personal development
  • Prepare learning resources and contribute to assessment and progress tracking
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and wider school professionals
  • Deliver lessons and provide classroom cover when required

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working as an HLTA or within a senior classroom support role
  • Be passionate about helping children achieve their potential
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a proactive, adaptable, and positive approach to learning support
  • Be confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion and supporting diverse learning needs
  • Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
