Are you an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role this October? Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Burnage to recruit a dedicated HLTA to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Role

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Burnage
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: October

As a key member of the school team, you will work closely with teachers to support learning across the school, deliver targeted interventions, and provide classroom cover when required. You will play an important role in creating an engaging and positive learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

As an HLTA, you will:

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Lead small group and 1:1 intervention sessions to boost pupil progress
  • Deliver lessons and provide classroom cover when required
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Prepare learning resources and contribute to assessment activities
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals

✅ About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as an HLTA or within a senior teaching assistant role
  • Be passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and confident using their own initiative
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Have a strong commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
  • Hold an HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
