A fantastic two form entry school in Islington, N5 are recruiting for a Year 2 Teacher to join their incredible team. The school is a short walk to Drayton station (national rail) and Holloway Road station (Piccadilly line).

This school is rated 'Good; by Ofsted and continues to strengthen every year. The atmosphere is harmonious creative and vibrant. Every staff member is supportive and welcoming to newcomers and are committed to delivering the highest quality of education.

The school promotes mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, individual liberty, democracy and the rule of the law. The school has an effective behaviour system that has been sustained and respected. This system is built on a comprehensive, fair set of rules that allows the students and staff to work together in a harmonious environment.

The school has a special philosophy that embraces; ambition, effort, resilience, team work, independence and effort. This is a federated school where the Senior Leadership Team's of this federation work collaboratively to provide the best support to their staff and deliver a high quality of education.

The head teacher and deputy head teacher have high expectations of staff and pupils. They continually reflect on performance and are keen to use expertise. The school is in a number of educational partnerships and this includes the 'soft federation'. This school works closely with a local school and share a head teacher. Effectiveness of leadership and management is excellent and the quality of teaching, learning and assessment is very good.

The students have a 'School Council' which includes every year group and every member of staff in the school. It provides everyone with the opportunity to voice key opinions and decisions about the school. This provides an ongoing experience of a direct form of democracy and allows all pupils to come together to voice and share ideas.

Job Specification:

Year 2 Primary Teacher

Position type: Full-time, until the end of the academic year.

Start: 05 March 2019

Rated 'Good' by Ofsted

Main scale pay: M2-M4

The successful applicant should display the following attributes:

  • Experience and knowledge of working with children with a wide range of abilities
  • A general understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum
  • Secure knowledge and skills relating to strategies in working with pupils with Complex Learning Needs
  • An interest, motivation and passion for working with special needs children and developing skills to facilitate this
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  • Commitment, initiative and reliability

Working for Teaching Personnel:

  • Minimum base pay £150 per day
  • Weekly pay
  • CPD courses throughout the academic year (Team-teach, Child Protection Training and The Prevent Duty)
  • Specialist consultants (Past educators and one consultant per Borough)

  • Excellence in education Awards; recognising the teachers positive impact being delivered in schools
