Year 1 Teaching Assistant

We are working with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Cardiff who are looking to appoint a Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join their lovely Year 1 class from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development in the classroom. Whether you have previous experience or are just starting your career in education, the school is looking for the right person with the enthusiasm and drive to make a difference.

The Role:

• Providing general classroom support to the class teacher.

• Working with small groups of pupils to support their learning, particularly in literacy and numeracy.

• Delivering 1:1 support to pupils who may need additional help to reach their potential.

• Supporting with phonics, reading, and writing tasks.

• Helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

About You:

• Experience in a primary school setting is beneficial but not essential.

• A patient, proactive and flexible approach.

• Passionate about working with children and contributing to their educational journey.

• Confident supporting children in reading, writing and maths.

• Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
