Year 1/2 Teacher – Temp to Perm role in Nelson Primary School

Newly and Fully Qualified Teachers are welcome to apply.

Small Nelson Primary School.

Experience in KS1 is a necessity and QTS

A Primary School in the heart of Nelson, East Lancashire have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source and appoint a Year 1/2 class teacher to take up a full time teaching role in KS1 from the start of January 2020. The role is expected to continue until the end of the academic year with potential of a school contract being available. The role is in a small primary school with excellent community links. The Head teacher is friendly & supportive, with wonderful ideas & plans for the school. The role will be full time, with allocated PPA time. The school attainment levels are high, with the majority of pupils working around expected levels in Maths, English, Phonics & SPAG.

The Head teacher has notified the agency on the following…’I am looking for a teacher who can come into the KS1 department and share GOOD and OUTSTANDING practice. We are clear in that we would like a practitioner who can come into school and hit the ground running, someone who wants to develop their teaching career and potentially move on to leadership/additional teaching and learning responsibilities’. 

The school is located outside the main town centre in Nelson, and is easily commutable by train and car. With this said, there are a number of children in the school who come from a range of multi-cultural backgrounds and so this affects the development of language and communication skills. The Head teacher has commented that she would like to appoint a teacher who has worked closely with either the Read Write Inc. or the Letters and Sounds Phonics Scheme & has good knowledge of the Year 2 SATS.
