Welfare Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a PMLD experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of learning difficulties for a school in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The role is temporary initially with the possibility of it leading to a permanent contract.

Ideally applicants would have experience of supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties in a SEN school setting. Some students may require medical assistance and personal care. The school also require applicants to have People Moving & Handling or to be willing to recieve the training.

Our ideal candidate will have:

-3 months experience supporting PMLD pupils in a SEN setting

-Experience of working with students that require medical assistance

-Moving and Handling trained and a good understanding of P Scales

-NCFE/CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting and Learning in Schools

-Patient and nurturing mannerism with a good understanding of de-escalation techniques
