About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Unqualified Teaching Assistants to join a fantastic SEN school in Hengoed. This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people who require additional support in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored support to students with various special educational needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support during lessons and activities.
- Help maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff.
- Assist in the preparation of classroom activities and resources.
- Encourage independence and confidence in students.
The School:
- The school caters to children and young people aged 3 to 19 with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Pupils are taught in small class sizes, usually not exceeding 10 students, with a high staff-to-student ratio, ensuring personalised support.
- The school is committed to providing a child-centred, empowering, and inclusive learning environment.
- Learning approaches include sensory activities, practical lessons, and structured individual development plans.
What We’re Looking For:
- No formal qualifications required, but experience in a similar role or working with children is preferred.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to travel to Hengoed and be available during school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
