Job description

Teaching Personnel work very closely with Local Authorities to provide 1:1 tuition to pupils throughout Mansfield and Surrounding North Nottinghamshire Areas. We are looking for tutors who are confident in delivering tuition to either Primary or Secondary pupils, our secondary pupils are usually working towards functional skills or GCSE tuition in English or Maths. This tuition will be taking place face to face, so please do not apply if you do not live in the local area.

Most of our tuition is provided for SEN pupils or looked after children who are not in education and are awaiting school placements, however we also have requests to provide tuition within Schools. The pupils need support to ensure that they do not fall too far behind on their education following missing chunks of school or awaiting suitable school placements. Tuition will best suit teachers who need flexibility or are looking to utilise their teaching skills outside of a school environment. A formal teaching qualification that provides QTS is essential.

The tuition can be anything from 1 hour a day to 15 hours a week and we have multiple students for you to support enabling you to work full or part time depending on your availability.

Pupils may need tuition for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Behavioural difficulties (Pupils excluded from school and are waiting on a new placement)
  • Emotional needs including school phobia or anxieties.
  • Medical needs.
  • Relocation, waiting for a school placement.
  • Support with GCSE preparation.
  • Functional Skills Tuition.
  • Catch Up Tuition.
  • National Tutoring Programme (NTP).

Most of the tuition is within the core subjects; specialists within this field would be beneficial in order to fulfil the current need. Teaching Personnel receive tuition requirements for pupils ranging from Year 1 up to college age, so we are looking for both primary and secondary specialists.

Benefits of this position:

  • A flexible role that enables you to plan your day - for example around school runs or another job
  • A dedicated consultant who will give you support with issues and questions
  • Pick up as many or as little hours as you would like
  • Weekly Pay
  • £25 per hour
  • Plenty of CPD available
  • Pension Scheme Available
