Tutor

I am looking for a tutor to support a Year 8 Looked After pupil in the Bestwood area (NG6 postcode). We are looking for a tutor to undertake 2 hours per day initially, with a view to increasing this as a relationship is established with the young person.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who would be available to work on a full time basis Easter 2021.

The student presented with some behavioural difficulties in the school environment but works better on a 1:1 basis.

He does not have any Special Educational Needs and he has worked well throughout lockdown and continues to want to do well with his education.

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

• Experienced teacher with KS3 experience (you will be responsible for planning and delivering all resources)
• Experienced tutor who has worked on a 1:1 or small group basis with vulnerable young people
• Confident to manage any disengagement or challenging behaviour
• Resilient and committed to staying with this child until a new school place is found
• Professional at all times and able to work successfully with carers, residential staff, Teaching Personnel and Local authority staff
• Versatile and able to differentiate and adapt your teaching approach to keep the student engaged

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
