Job description

Make a Meaningful Difference Through One-to-One Tuition

TP Tutors is looking for dedicated and adaptable SEN Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one tuition to primary and secondary learners across Brighton & Hove and the surrounding areas.

You’ll support a diverse range of students, including SEN/SEND and mainstream learners, adapting your teaching to suit individual abilities, learning styles and educational goals.

Learners may require support with subjects such as Maths and English, as well as additional support relating to autism, ADHD, SEMH and other SEND needs.

Role Details

Location: Brighton & Hove and surrounding areas
Students: Primary and secondary SEN/SEND and mainstream learners
Pay: £25–£30 per hour
Contract: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
Delivery: One-to-one tuition in schools, community settings or learners’ homes

Your Responsibilities

As an SEN Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and personalised one-to-one tuition
  • Adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs
  • Support both primary and secondary students
  • Work with SEN/SEND and mainstream learners
  • Help students develop academic skills and confidence
  • Encourage independence and positive engagement with learning
  • Monitor and record learner progress
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, schools and other professionals

Essential Requirements

We’re looking for tutors with:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring or education experience
  • Experience supporting SEN/SEND and/or mainstream learners
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Ability to support primary and/or secondary students
  • Ability to travel across Brighton & Hove and surrounding areas
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
