Job description

TP Tutors is recruiting experienced SEN Tutors to provide individualised one-to-one tuition to primary and secondary students across Poole and the surrounding areas.

This is an opportunity to work with a varied group of learners, including SEN/SEND and mainstream students. You’ll tailor your approach to each learner, helping them develop subject knowledge, confidence and independent learning skills.

You may support students with Maths, English and other subjects, as well as learners with needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH and other SEND requirements.

Role Details

Location: Poole and surrounding areas
Students: Primary and secondary SEN/SEND and mainstream learners
Pay: £25–£30 per hour
Contract: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
Delivery: One-to-one tuition in schools, community settings or learners’ homes

Your Day-to-Day Role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering personalised one-to-one tuition
  • Adapting teaching methods and resources
  • Supporting primary and secondary learners
  • Working with both SEN/SEND and mainstream students
  • Helping learners improve subject knowledge and study skills
  • Building confidence, motivation and independence
  • Tracking and recording progress
  • Communicating effectively with families, schools and relevant professionals

Essential Requirements

You should have:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring or education experience
  • Experience supporting SEN/SEND and/or mainstream learners
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Ability to support primary and/or secondary students
  • Ability to travel across Poole and surrounding areas
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
