We work closely with the Southampton SEN service and virtual schools providing tutors for students who need it most.

With an increasing demand for specialist Science tutors, we are currently on a recruitment drive to find tutors who share the same ethos as us and our schools to help raise attainment and close the gap between high and low achievers. All tuition is completed on an hourly basis and you will have full support from the school who are usually happy to share resources and learning materials and well as proving you with background on the students you teach to ensure you are able to tailor you sessions accordingly.

It is likely that you will work closely to support looked after children, children who have had disruption in their education or may have SEN.

The ideal Science tutor will:

  • Hold a Science related degree (QTS is not essential)
  • Have experience working with children aged 11-16
  • Be prepared to tutor in a range of learning environments; school, the home, local library etc
  • Be able to travel in and around the Southampton area
  • Have expert knowledge of the programme of study for Science and be prepared to teach up to GCSE level across multiple exam boards
  • Be empathetic, yet motivating and show a high level of commitment to your students
  • Bright university students can also be considered for tuition opportunities however must demonstrate prior experience.
