Job description

We are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position supporting young people aged 10–17.

This role is available for an immediate start and offers the opportunity to work across both primary and secondary age ranges.

Working hours are 8.30am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday, providing a consistent and structured working day.

You will be joining a highly regarded specialist school known for its welcoming atmosphere and strong commitment to inclusion. The school provides tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, and is recognised for:

The setting focuses on helping students develop confidence, independence and essential life skills alongside their learning.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEN and ASD on a 1:1 and small-group basis

  • Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and routines

  • Promoting engagement, communication and emotional regulation

  • Helping to create a safe, supportive and encouraging learning environment

 

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN

  • Be patient, empathetic and resilient

  • Be confident working with pupils with ASD

  • Be reliable, proactive and committed to making a positive impact

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
