Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs

We are currently recruiting for a special education focused school based in the Tooting SW17 Area. They work with children between the ages of 4-11 with difficulties with communication and sensory processing, severe learning difficulties, Autism, PMLD and SEMH. They aim to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all their pupils in order to maximise their learning and social and emotional growth potential. The role:

• You will be working with children with complex needs who may require personal care at times so willingness to do this is necessary.
• Working with children with speech and language difficulties, candidates with experience with PECS/Makaton are highly desirable for this role but this is not a necessity.
• Working as a teaching assistant alongside a teacher and support staff to provide care to children with special education needs.
• Starts in September 2020 - Full Time Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:45pm

The candidate:

• Must have right to work in the UK
• -All candidates must have a current child only DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
• -Must have experience working with individuals with special education needs. Personal experience/non- school based experience will be considered.
• -Be comfortable with personal care

Day rates- GBP65-75

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
