Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the CB2 area of Cambridge. The Role
This position will involve a combination of:
1:1 SEND Support
- Providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Supporting pupils with learning, communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Implementing strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
- Adapting resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and enrichment activities where required.
General Teaching Assistant Duties
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Supporting small group and whole-class learning activities.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Assisting with displays, resources, and general classroom administration.
- Supporting assessment activities and pupil progress tracking.
- Supervising pupils during activities, educational visits, and school events when required.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Have a minimum of 1 year's experience working in UK schools.
- Hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification and/or demonstrate significant relevant school-based experience.
- Have a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be able to provide references covering recent educational or childcare employment.
- Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply and pay for one through Teaching Personnel.
