A Secondary SEN School in the heart of Eccles, Salford are looking to recruit for a September start. They are looking for Teaching Assistants who have experience in supporting young people who have Autism (ASC). As a Teaching Assistant you would be required to support the pupils in the classroom, helping them concentrate on work and making sure that noise levels are kept to a minimum. The teaching assistant role will be working with children that have various conditions that are aged between the years of 11-16.The school is graded Ofsted 'Outstanding' specialist school that caters for pupils with various difficulties and challenging behaviours. A large number of the pupils suffer from Autistic spectrum condition, which requires the school to have work in small class rooms with a number of experienced staff, and have numerous sensory rooms.
Desirable skills and qualifications that might help the Teaching Assistants be considered for the role:
- Previous Experience in a school
- Previous Experience in similar settings
- Autism Awareness
- Team-Teach Training
- Use of PEC's
