Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Northamptonshire

I am working on behalf of a lovely village primary school that is Ofsted rated 'Good'. The school are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Teaching Assistant to join their highly dedicated team on a named pupil contract. It is expected that this role will be for one to one support including unstructured times such as break and lunchtime.

The successful applicant will join a happy and friendly team of teachers and support staff who are fully committed to providing the best for every child within this thriving village school.

Applicants should have:-

  • An understanding of the primary curriculum
  • A commitment to understanding and empathising with the individual needs of all pupils
  • The ability to work independently and/or as part of a team and to use their initiative in dealing with situations effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of working as a teaching assistant
  • Proven levels of Literacy and Numeracy
  • The ability to lead and support lunchtime play through effective use of resources and staff deployment
  • Experience of working with pupils across the whole primary phase

This is a term-time post; Monday - Friday through lunchtime (30 hours per week), on a named child temporary contract.

Your normal working hours will be 8:45-3:15 (less 30 minute lunch break times to be determined).
