Teaching Assistant (outreach experience) - Oldham

Job description

Teaching Personnel work with a number of provisions throughout Oldham who are currently looking to recruit staff with Outreach experience.

I am looking for candidates who can work mainly with young people aged between 11-16 years. Most of the pupils you will be working with display challenging behaviours and have been diagnosed with needs associated to their Social, Emotional and Mental Health. Ideally I require you to have at least 1 years Outreach experience and experience of working with young people before.

In addition you:

  • Must be an excellent communicator - both written and verbally
  • Have active listening skills
  • Be socially aware of the socio-economic situation of the area and how this may affect the young people you work with
  • Be equipped with excellent interpersonal skills and be able to show compassion, positivity and patience
  • Be extremely organised
  • You must be available for work 5 days a week - Monday to Friday
  • Have a DBS that is Child Workforce only and be registered on the Update Service
