Large Secondary School - Newport - Graduate opportunity Teaching Assistant Full time

Pay: £54 - £65

Teaching Assistant role available on a full time basis with a January start!

I am looking to appoint an Teaching Assistant to work in a large Secondary School in Newport. You will be required to provide support to pupils on both a 1:1 and small group basis. The school caters for children with moderate learning difficulties, autism and challenging behaviour. This is a great opportunity for a teaching assistant that wants a career in teaching.

The school are trialling a new unit for children who will be on an alternative curriculum that struggle within a mainstream setting. It is a place that will provide a safe place for students and support their core subjects.

The role may suit someone with transferable skills and applications are welcomed from those individuals who are creative, innovative and have a real passion for supporting children.

A valid DBS and Education Workforce Council registration is essential. Assistance will be provided.

You will be joining a large support team. If you have experience delivering workshops or coaching that will be very beneficial in this role as the pupils often go outside to relieve some energy. Many of our teaching assistants working in this school have delivered their own workshops at lunch time or taken different year groups sports teams!
