Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in Middleton (M24) to appoint Level 3 teaching assistants to join their dynamic and inclusive school.

This is an exciting opportunity with the school having 3 vacancies available in September 2022.

  • Full time position 8:00am – 3:15pm
  • September 2022 start – possibility to start sooner in Summer 2 term
  • Pay starting from £400 per week
  • Temporary to permanent role

As a Level 3 teaching assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Help to keep children safe by supporting the safeguarding of children,
  • Support pupils to develop their reading, writing skills, speaking, and listening skills alongside numeracy skills,
  • Promote positive behaviour by implementing the school’s behaviour management strategies
  • Establish and develop positive relationships with children and adults including parents, carers, and other professionals
  • Provide additional literacy and numeracy support to enable pupils to access the wider curriculum
  • Be responsible for a class, delivering teaching and learning activities in the absence of the teacher.

The school are looking for experienced individuals who have had previous successful experiences supporting teaching and learning in KS1 or KS2. This may have been from previous permanent roles or through long term placements with a supply agency. Similarly, graduates looking to start their career in education or final year students wanting to build experience are encouraged to apply.

The successful applicants will hold a minimum Level 3 teaching assistant qualification or a higher qualification such as a degree. The school would favour any candidate who has completed any additional training such as First Aid, Safeguarding or working with children with SEND.

The school is a large two-form entry mainstream primary school rated “Good” by OFSTED. The school is close to Middleton Town Centre so is within easy reach of the bus and train station. The school’s demographic is made up of a higher-than-average number of SEND students and those deriving from a disadvantaged background. The school is looking to take applicants onto a permanent contract following a successful period working through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
