Secondary Teaching Assistant - South Manchester
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the learning of pupils in smaller groups and on 1:1, at one of our partner secondary schools in South Manchester.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will make a huge difference to the learning and development of identified pupils who require some additional, tailored support in the classroom to ensure they have the best chance at meeting their full potential in their studies. You will be a positive learning mentor to pupils who are failing to meet target grades and to those who struggle with engagement due to mild learning and behavioral needs (SEN).
Responsibilities
Day to day responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant will vary based on your experience and the needs of the pupil, but duties will generally include:
- Tailored learning support to pupils in smaller groups and on 1:1
- Across a range of KS3 and KS4 subjects
- Holding small intervention sessions and delivering engaging learning activities to promote effective learning
- Graduates will have the opportunity to provide support in there subject specialism
- Supporting the class teacher with a range of tasks such as; preparing the classroom for lessons / activities, planning lessons and classroom control
Pay
Pay will vary depending on the requirements of the role and your experience but the daily rate will range between £57- £67 and paid on a weekly basis.
Skills and Requirements
- Able to communicate effectively with young people and teachers
- Flexible and adaptable approach to learning
- Able to build a strong rapport with pupils
- Previous experience in a similar role - supporting the learning and development of young people
- Considering a career in the education sector
