Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant required on a full-time basis starting in December (or sooner) for a client secondary school based in Hindley.

Details of this position;

  • Teaching Assistant required on a full-time basis.
  • Expected payment of around £1000-£1200 a month
  • Previous experience working alongside students ages 11-16 is essential
  • Must be willing to apply for or hold an Enhanced Child Only DBS
  • Required from December - With employment for the remainder of the academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well respected client of Teaching Personnel in the Hindley area of Wigan. The school will require the incoming Teaching Assistant to start in December and are offering employment until the end of the academic year; there will also be potential of earning a permanent contract beyond this period.

To be considered for this role, you must have experience working alongside students that are aged 11-16, whether that be from an education, sporting or supportive background. It is essential that you are able to work within a classroom environment, supporting students from a range of backgrounds and building good working relationships. You will be a role model to most students within the school so it is key that you are able to promote good classroom behaviours.

Roles and responsibilities of this position;

  • You must ensure that all students understand the work that is being set and provide additional guidance and support when needed.
  • It will be your responsibility to monitor behaviour throughout the lesson and reduce instances of low level disruption.
  • You will have the opportunity to lead small intervention sessions and to support students on a 1:1 basis with students who may be falling behind in their studies.

Our client secondary school is larger than the average secondary school in the area with around 900 pupils' currently on roll and holds an excellent reputation in the Hindley area of Wigan. The school is a short drive away from the A577 an ideal location when commuting via a car.
