Due to a change in their support structure, our client are looking to appoint a flexible member of staff to support across a number of areas in the school, including working with students with learning difficulties, supporting those who display challenging behaviour as well as helping the transition of the new Year 7 students.

  • Full time position at secondary school as a teaching assistant

  • Earn GBP9.50 to GBP12.50 an hour, dependant on experience
  • Temporary contract initially, though successful applicant will work towards permanent post
  • Ideally located near two major bus routes and good locality to A580 (East Lancs Rd)

Our client secondary is a large, established comprehensive which in recent years has seen a consistent improvement across all key measures including Progress 8, Attainment 8 scores and attendance which has encouraged a strong climate for learning in which students and staff are thriving. The school is current undersubscribed but due to the excellent progress in the past few years, Key Stage 3 is now oversubscribed and firmly one of the schools’ of choice in the local area.

Whilst working as a teaching assistant, the successful applicant will join a vibrant and welcoming support team who ensure the best interests of the students are at the forefront of their decision making. The successful teaching assistant will be tasked with facilitating learning and working with those who have additional needs both during lessons and in a small group setting. There will be extensive in-house training and CPD available to new starters so previous experience working directly as a teaching assistant isn’t essential, but an understanding of working in schools would be preferred.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
