Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4 to 16 within a highly supportive specialist setting in Yeovil.
This role is available after Easter, with the potential to start full-time as soon as possible.
This setting is well-regarded for its inclusive, nurturing environment and strong team ethos.
Staff are supported to deliver high-quality care and education to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.
The school places a strong emphasis on individual progress, emotional wellbeing, and building positive relationships that support long-term development.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with diverse learning abilities in both classroom and one-to-one settings

Assist with tailored learning activities and behaviour support strategies

Promote a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment

Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual needs

Encourage independence, confidence, and social development in pupils
Skills and Experience

Energetic, positive and patient approach

Ability to support children with a range of additional needs

Strong commitment to working Monday to Friday to ensure consistency for pupils

Previous SEN or school experience is beneficial but not essential

A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
