Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist setting in Yeovil. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, supporting pupils aged 4–16 with a range of Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Staff work collaboratively to provide personalised support, making it a rewarding environment for anyone passionate about SEN education.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils aged 4–16 with MLD and SLD

• Assist the class teacher with engaging and differentiated activities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support

• Help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment

• Encourage independence, communication, and social development

The Ideal Candidate

• Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting SEN learners

• Experience with SEN, care, youth work, or education is desirable

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Committed to making a positive difference in children’s lives
