Job description

Learning Support Worker

We are recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Worker to join a forward-thinking specialist provision in Yeovil. This full-time opportunity is available immediately and offers the chance to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives. The setting supports students aged 10 to 18 with autism, communication and interaction needs, cognition and learning difficulties, sensory processing differences and SEMH profiles. Many pupils have personalised learning programmes and benefit from a creative, therapeutic and highly individualised approach. The school is known for its strong ethos, inclusive values and supportive staff culture, with learning delivered across unique and engaging environments.

 

The Role

  • Support students on personalised learning programmes

  • Promote social, emotional and academic development

  • Assist with literacy, numeracy and curriculum-based activities

  • Help manage behaviour positively and consistently

  • Contribute to record keeping and progress monitoring

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families and external professionals

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with young people, ideally those with SEN

  • Confident supporting communication and interaction needs

  • Patient, resilient and enthusiastic approach

  • Strong teamwork and safeguarding awareness

  • Ability to work independently and across different learning bases

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
