We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join the team of a Special Educational Needs School in Slough for after October half term and the New Year 2020!
The school caters for a wide variety of special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, Social Emotional Mental Health Needs, Speech and Communication Difficulties and Physical Disabilities.
Current classes with Teaching Assistant vacancies:
- Early Years and/or Primary Autism
- Early Year and/or Primary Physical Disabilities
- Secondary Autism
- Post 16 Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
The class sizes are small with no more 8 pupils. Each class will have a qualified teacher and numerous support staff on hand. Your role will be to support the social and academic development of all pupils in the class. You may also get the chance to work as a key worker for 1 or 2 children who require more focused support.
The school ideally require teaching assistants who have experience working with Special Educational Needs. This can be in either a mainstream school or specialist school. The Head Teacher also understands that some people may be interested in such role and have little or no experience. His view is that the experience can only come from being given an opportunity. Something he is more than happy to provide. As long as you have a genuine interest in working with Special Needs, enthusiastic and happy to learn and get stuck in he is happy to accept those with little or no experience with Special Needs. The school will also give you the opportunity to learn from highly experienced support staff and provide any relevant training to allow you to succeed.
