Teaching Assistant
Job description
I am seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated individual to join our team as a Support Worker / Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs, including autism and complex care needs.
You will work closely with teaching staff and care professionals to support students’ learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students
- Assist with personal care and daily living needs where required
- Support students with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
- Help create an inclusive, engaging, and structured learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
Essential Requirements
- Previous care work experience (must have) – this could include roles in healthcare, support work, residential care, or similar settings
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of autism or special educational needs (SEN)
- Relevant qualifications in care, childcare, or education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
