Job description

Future Teachers – Teacher Training Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our client secondary school in South Manchester.

This would be part of Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers program, which is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher to gain practical experience and training in a supportive and dynamic learning environment.

Our client school is located in the heart of Old Trafford, and is walking distance from local public transport links including Bus and Tram stops. The school also has a large onsite car part for members of staff with a vehicle.

This position would be starting in September 2024, however prior to the summer holidays, candidates should be able to commit to 1 or 2 weeks in school so that they are able to start and hit the ground running in September.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons
  • Support students with their learning, both in and outside of the classroom
  • Provide feedback to students on their progress and attainment
  • Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • A passion for teaching and supporting the learning of young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well in a team and independently
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with young people in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Experience of providing pastoral support to students
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the promotion of equality and diversity

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
