Location: Newport – NP19 area
Start Date: Immediately after October half term (2025)
Pay: £89 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Term-Time Only

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Newport (NP19) is seeking a General Teaching Assistant to join their team straight after the October half term. Whether you’re experienced or new to education, this is a great opportunity to make a difference and gain valuable school-based experience.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher during lessons and daily activities

• Work with children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

• Assist with intervention sessions to help pupils reach their learning goals

• Help create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment

• Prepare learning materials and assist with general classroom organisation

• Caring, enthusiastic, and reliable individuals

• A genuine interest in helping children learn and grow

• ALN or classroom experience is helpful, but not essential

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A flexible, proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning
