Position: Teaching Assistant (General Classroom Support)
Location: Newport, NP20
Contract Type: Monday – Thursday (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: £89.38 per day
Start Date: 25th November 2024

About the Role:

We are seeking a caring, proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class in a welcoming and dynamic primary school. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help create a positive, engaging environment where young learners can thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Provide general in-class support for Reception pupils.
• Assist the teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
• Support classroom management and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Prepare resources and contribute to creating an organised learning space.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and participation among young learners.

Requirements:

• Experience working with early years or primary-aged children.
• A patient, compassionate approach and strong communication skills.
• Right to work in the UK (Passport or Birth Certificate required).
• Valid proof of address (Driving Licence, utility bill, or bank statement).
• Referee details (Character references accepted if you lack formal experience).
• A child-only DBS (support available if you need to apply).
