Teaching Assistant
Manchester

Do you have a desire to make a positive impact on young people's lives?

Due to a vacancy at our client school, Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our client schools Special Educational Needs Team from September 2019. This is a full time role commencing in September 2019 and running until July 2020 with the potential to continue on to a permanent school contract.

The successful Teaching Assistant will work as a member of the schools Special Educational Needs department and will ensure that every students has the support required to become confident, independent and successful learners.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom, small group and one to one support to students who require particular help to overcome barriers to learning. You will use a range of literacy and numeracy strategies to promote sustained progress and will motive and encourage students by preparing and delivering learning activities in class and out of the classroom setting.

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

  • Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or equivalent in an educational setting
  • Have experience working with young people - either paid or voluntary
  • Have a C or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Be committed to improving their own knowledge through training and learning from others
  • Have a desire to make a positive impact on students lives

Our client school is a diverse leading Catholic 11 - 16 High School with just fewer than 1000 pupils on roll. They have a strong record of achievement leading in recent years to a number of national awards. The school building has recently benefited from an investment of £11.2 million creating an excellent learning environment for all students.

The school is located a short drive from the city centre and is therefore easily accessible via public transport links.
