An exceptional opportunity has arisen for full-time Teaching Assistants to join one of Liverpool’s most respected alternative provisions. The school caters for Key Stage 4 students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment where every learner is encouraged to thrive.

About the School:
The provision boasts two modern, air-conditioned classrooms, a dedicated ICT suite, state-of-the-art sports halls and fitness suites, and 3G outdoor pitches. Students also enjoy freshly prepared meals cooked on-site in a purpose-built, high-specification kitchen. The setting is designed to promote both academic achievement and personal development.

Role Overview:
Teaching Assistants will work closely with teaching staff and support professionals to deliver personalised support to students, many of whom present with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The role involves assisting in the delivery of individual learning plans, supporting emotional regulation, and fostering a safe and engaging learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of tailored learning to students with EHCPs

  • Promoting student engagement and managing behaviour positively and effectively

  • Developing strong, supportive relationships with students and colleagues

  • Supporting learning in the classroom and through extracurricular and physical activities

  • Assisting with personal care and pastoral support as needed

  • Ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all students

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision environment

  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
