We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic EAL Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team in a thriving mainstream secondary school in Liverpool. This is a full-time role, starting in September 2025, with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

About the Role

As an EAL Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students for whom English is an additional language, supporting them both in and out of the classroom. You will help to ensure they can access the curriculum, develop their English language skills, and thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support for EAL students across a range of subjects.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt resources and lesson plans.
  • Assist in the assessment and tracking of EAL students' progress.
  • Deliver small group or one-to-one intervention sessions focused on English language development.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for all learners.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting.
  • Understanding of the needs of EAL students and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and a strong team ethic.
  • A relevant qualification or background in education, language, or linguistics is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
