Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Secondary Industry: Education and Training

Job Duties:

The Teaching Assistant will support teachers in delivering lessons and providing additional support to students. Duties include assisting with classroom activities, supervising students, preparing materials for lessons, and helping with administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one

Education:

A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths is required. Additional qualifications in Education or relevant field are desirable.

Experience:

Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided to suitable candidates.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Education Support
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

The Teaching Assistant will work within a school environment, following the school calendar and hours. Some flexibility may be required to attend events or meetings outside regular hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
