Teaching Assistant 
1-1 Support in KS2 

I am working in partnership with a GOOD Primary school in Harrogate who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis working in KS2. You will be joining the Year 4 class to work 1-1 with a pupil who has fallen behind their target level and are struggling to maintain focus in class, this often leads them to display challenging behaviour. 

It will be your responsibility to work in class alongside the class teacher to monitor the pupils progress supporting them with class work set for their ability, you will also be responsible for managing their behaviour in class and around school. Experience of working with children of a primary age is ideal however the ability to bond well with the child and create a positive learning environment is the teachers preference.  

Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Monitoring the pupils progress and helping them with set tasks as required 
• Managing their behaviour in class and around school 
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil is making expected progress 
• Using your own initiative to know when to respond to the pupils behaviour and give them a break out space 
• Carrying out intervention tasks 1-1 with the pupil 
• Supporting whole class activities and learning as required 
• Reporting to the class teacher, senior leaders and the pupils parents on progress made

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
