Teaching Assistant
Job description
Location: County Durham (DH7)
Start Date: ASAP / Negotiable
Pay: £90 – £100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
A supportive and inclusive primary school in the DH7 area of County Durham is seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team. This is a full-time role, ideally suited to an enthusiastic and experienced individual who is committed to supporting young learners and helping them reach their full potential.
Role Responsibilities:

Provide support to the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning
-
Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons and activities in KS1
-
Deliver targeted interventions and provide one-to-one support as required
-
Support pupils with varying needs, promoting engagement and positive behaviour
-
Prepare learning materials and help maintain a stimulating classroom environment
-
Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies where necessary
Essential Requirements:
-
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
-
Previous experience supporting children in a Key Stage 1 setting
-
A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics approaches (e.g. Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
-
An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Legal right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
