Teaching Assistant needed at a Secondary School in Chorlton

Are you confident in your Maths and English ability?

Want to begin a career in teaching but don’t have any hands-on school experience?

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School based in Chorlton, who are specifically looking for an outgoing and sociable Teaching Assistant to join their team. Ideally a successful candidate should be available to start in April and be committed to working full-time (8:15am – 3:15pm) with the school until the end of the academic year.

More information about the role:

  • The pay for the role is between £400-£600 per week, depending on experience
  • The school is situated in the heart of South Manchester with lots of public transport options under a 5-minute walk away and a large car park for staff with a vehicle
  • The cohort of staff and all departments are known to be very welcoming and supportive

The introduction of this role is required to target and specifically bridge the gap and support students who are disadvantaged with significantly less opportunities than other children across the UK.

It is important that applicants are kind and patient so that they can connect with these students who are struggling and lack confidence. In this role you will be supporting both KS3 and KS4 students with core subjects including Maths and English.

Expectations from applicants:

  • It is crucial that candidates are confident in their Maths and English ability – as they will be supporting up to GCSE level
  • Applicants must be organised and willing to provide detailed feedback of student progress and development to teachers
  • It is essential that applicants can remain calm yet firm when having to deal with poor behaviour and are confident in their ability to maintain control a disruptive classroom

All applicants will require appropriate qualifications and Right to Work in the UK in order to be considered for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
