Exciting Opportunity: Learning Support Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join an Ofsted good secondary school in Wilmslow on a full-time basis. This role will commence after May half term and continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance.
Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students across various subjects and year groups, ensuring they receive the guidance, resources, and encouragement needed to excel academically and personally. Your key responsibilities will include:

Individual Support: Offering one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance with their learning. You will help students grasp subject content, complete assignments, and develop crucial study skills. Collaborating with subject teachers, you will reinforce learning objectives and adapt your support to meet individual learning needs.

Classroom Assistance: Working closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will assist in delivering lessons, preparing materials, and implementing behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.

Resource Management: Organising and maintaining a variety of learning resources, including textbooks, worksheets, and technology, to support effective teaching and independent study. You will ensure resources are accessible, relevant, and used efficiently to enhance student learning across different subjects.

Assessment and Feedback: Assisting teachers in assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and monitoring academic achievements. You will contribute to the preparation and marking of assignments, exams, and coursework, helping to identify areas for improvement and celebrate student successes.

Communication and Collaboration: Building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers to foster a collaborative approach to learning support. You will communicate regularly with key stakeholders, sharing updates on student progress, discussing strategies for improvement, and providing feedback to inform teaching practice.

Behaviour and Wellbeing: Supporting students' social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to a nurturing and inclusive school environment. You will work proactively to address any behavioural or emotional challenges, providing guidance, encouragement, and pastoral care as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in an educational setting or a similar support role is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting the learning and well-being of students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage resources, maintain records, and assist with administrative tasks as required.
- A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, responding to the changing needs of students and the school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
