Teaching Personnel are working closely alongside our client secondary school in Bury to appoint a resilient and passionate behaviour support assistant to join their team.

• Start date April 2024                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
• Full-time position, Monday -Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm.
• Earn between £1670 - £1800 per month, depending on experience.
• Support children aged 11-16 on a 1:1 and small group basis.

Within this role, you will be responsible for a caseload of students who identify as displaying challenging behaviour and require additional support within the mainstream setting. You will encourage the students to engage in learning by implementing alternative support strategies which cater for the students individual learning style.

You will build strong rapport and professional working relationships with students to be able to offer emotional support for students who are finding the mainstream education environment difficult. You will have strong behaviour management skills which work to calm students down and maintain a controlled and enjoyable learning environment.

What you will need:

• Experience supporting children displaying challenging behaviour or SEMH is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
• Professional references covering the last two years of employment.
