We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support the mental health needs of our students. The successful candidate will work closely with our educational and support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. This role involves providing one-on-one and group support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students with mental health needs, both individually and in groups.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised support plans.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, counsellors, and other staff to identify and address student mental health concerns.
- Support classroom activities and facilitate a positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in mental health support.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role or relevant experience working with children or adults with mental health difficulties
- Knowledge of mental health issues and strategies for support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
