Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Bournemouth | September Start
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant in Bournemouth, starting in September, to support pupils with a range of additional learning and developmental needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands that every child learns differently and is confident adapting their approach to meet individual needs. You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide consistent, personalised support both within the classroom and across the wider school environment.
The role may involve supporting pupils with communication and interaction, emotional regulation, sensory needs, social development and learning difficulties. You may also work on a one-to-one basis or as part of a small group, depending on the needs of the pupils.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with additional or complex needs
- Is calm, patient and consistent in their approach
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Understands the importance of structure, routine and clear boundaries
- Can adapt communication and learning activities to individual needs
- Is confident supporting children who may display challenging or distressed behaviours
- Works effectively alongside teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
- Is committed to promoting independence, confidence and inclusion
Experience within a specialist school, SEN setting, care environment or similar role would be advantageous.
This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN practitioner or someone with relevant experience who is looking to develop their career within a specialist educational setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
