Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in the Bournemouth area.

The School

The school is a Pupil Referral Unit in Bournemouth, catering for Secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream school. This includes pupils who have been temporarily excluded, permanently excluded, pupils with mental health needs, pupils with Autism and Looked After Children. The pupils can display challenging behaviour.

The Role

You will be working as a class based Teaching Assistant. This will involve working with small groups of children and supporting pupils on a 1-1 basis. You will be supporting pupils with their work so should have a good understanding of the National Curriculum. You will also be helping pupils to engage in their work and providing emotional support. This will be Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4.00pm.

Candidate Requirements:

  • must have experience working with people with challenging behaviour and/or mental health needs
  • be resilient and confident supporting challenging behaviour
  • be enthusiastic and have a positive approach

Experience in a school setting is not required. We are also keen to hear from applicants with backgrounds in Care, Sports Coaching, Military, Emergency Services and Pastoral roles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
